I'm about to buy a used but very nice CZ-75B made in 1996. It has non-CZ pistol grips and I'd like to "restore" it with pistol grips like the originals. But I'm not sure what kind of pistol grips those were.
So, can someone tell me what kind of pistol grip came on CZ-75B's of this vintage? The thumbrest pistol grips, or the checkered pistol grips without thumbrest?
TIA.

Posts: 989 That depends on if it`s a std. 75B or a 75B Military. The militarys were built by CZ to fill a contract with the Turkish gov`t. They defaulted on the last shipment so they were sold commercially. The only difference between these guns and the std. 75B is a sort of "crest" stamped just to the rear of the ejection port along with the production date (mine is a `96 FWIW) and the thumb rest "ergo" pistol grips. I didn`t care for them and took them off almost immediately in favor of a set of cobolo Hogues. I still have the originals if you`re interested. What kind are on yours? Marcus

Posts: 216 The thumbrest pistol grip are the originals and were unpopular. You can get them pretty easy, though. I have met folks who prefer them (they are similar to Hi power pistol grip).

Posts: 1,718 Marcus, the CZ has Hogue finger-groove rubber wraparounds. If these sound good to you, yes, I'd be interested in a swap.

Posts: 989 I`m not really interested in the Hogue rubber pistol grips but you`re welcome to my original CZ Mil. pistol grips anyway for the cost of the shipping. I dug them out, just give me your e mail address and I`ll send em to ya. Marcus
