Posts: 84 No. They will send you three pages of information describing their pistol grip. But no pictures. Strange.
Their number is 515-532-3449.

Posts: 266 I think a catalog and website might be in the planning stages... with pictures, no less!
I've got some Ahrends pistol grip on my guns that I can show you to give you an idea on style. Personally, the finger grooves feel amazing to me... a wonderful design... but finger groove pistol grips don't fit all people equally well, depending on hand size. Here are a few:
Round butt, finger groove:
Round butt, finger groove (this pair made with rare, heavily figured wood)
Round to square butt conversion pistol grips with finger grooves (same look and feel as the square butt finger groove)
Square butt finger groove (this pair made with rare wood)
Square butt, smooth:

By the way DHart, the pics of your Smiths with the Ahrends pistol grips are exactly why I became interested. I've got a pair of Nill pistol grips on my 2 1/2" Model 19, but I was thinking of trying something new. I was also looking for something I could put on my brand new S&W 642.

another square with fingergrooves.. ..after getting my first set of Ahrends fingergroove pistol grips, I wish I could afford to put them on ALL my revolvers!
Cool...a new website for them would be great!

Posts: 8 My compliments to DHart for his fantastic revolvers and wooden pistol grips
Your photos are also extraordinarily good, like made by a professional photographer! Great pics!
I have got a pair of cocobolo finger grooved Ahrends, I think they are just the same as on DHart's 66-4, but don't look so good on my S&W 17 with 6" barrel, they are great on short barrelled defence revolvers, to be concealed.
I buyed them on the S&W web site (here: http://store.smith-wesson.com/store/...p3?item=831137, they don't shine like in the photo, mine have a sort of matt finish.
On my 17 I am currently using a pair of Nill target pistol grips:
They look great and are very good for one-hand target shooting

Posts: 47 I'll second the suggestion for pickagrip...wish they'd add some new stock. I bought a set from S&W and was very dissappointed- kind of a matt finish and nothing like DHART's pics...it's nice to be able to see what you're going to be buying.

All of the ahrends pistol grips i've
seen mounted on the newest S&W
revolvers have a matt finish,
not a gloss finish.

Posts: 266 OK... here's the deal. I ordered about 12 pair of pistol grips (I have a lot of Smiths!) from Brownells - all Ahrends, mostly round butt finger groove. Among them were about five or six pair with amazing figure in the wood... very dramatic indeed. I just thought they were randomly incredible pistol grips until one day I called Ahrends to order some pistol grips from them (after Brownells stopped carrying the Ahrends line) and told Kim Ahrends about the gorgeous pistol grips I got from Brownells. That's when I learned why I had such amazing pistol grips... Kim had some special wood set aside for pistol grips for his personal use. Turns out that someone in his plant used the wood to make pistol grips and then sent the pistol grips to Brownells along with the standard grade pistol grips. So I just lucked out in finding them and buying them. The pic of the 686-4 above shows one of these pistol grips. The standard cocobolo wood figure pistol grips that are typically found are like the pistol grips shown on my 66 and 642 above. Standard finish is a matte sheen polymer finish which does glisten somewhat in light. My preference for grip finish is hand rubbed oil finish, so I have removed the poly finish and replaced it with hand rubbed teak oil finish - as can be seen on my 686-4 above. This is why some of the Ahrends pistol grips I have in my pics are not like the standard Ahrends pistol grips. Now when I order pistol grips from Ahrends, I ask Kim not to finish the pistol grips I order.... saves me from having to strip the finish in order to apply my Teak oil finish. You can order pistol grips from Ahrends finished or unfinished. The 586 with Morado wood (aka Moradillo, Pau Ferro) pistol grips were supplied to me unfinished and I simply gave them the Teak oiling.

Posts: 8 This is my 17-8 with Cocobolo Ahrends grip with "matte" finish I got from S&W web site:

Definitely not bad, but I prefer the Nill grip for both looking and shooting. Here is a new pic (a scan indeed) with the same background and light as the Ahrends, to make a comparison:

I am going to order another Nill grip for 2 hands shooting, this one:
